Mrs. Melanie Barker

¡Hola!  Bonjour! Hello!

  Hi, my name is Melanie Barker.  I am a certified K-12 world language teacher working at FIVE and Irmo Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.  I have taught world languages since 1998 at all levels from Pre-K to adults.  I married my husband in 2000 and we have two children, Dalton age 18, and Amelia age 16; and a yellow labrador dog named Monroe.  I love to be outdoors, waterski, kayak, birdwatch, travel, scrapebook and go camping.  I grew up in Belgium, Europe speaking French outside of the home and English in the home.  This is where I developed a love of languages, internationals and other cultures.
